SAL's beach with 15 or more make shift bamboo-nipa huts, sprouting all over a 1 hectare lot, was a favourite weekend relaxation spots of Ormocanons, as well as, people from neighboring towns. Weekly reservations were so many that the owners found it hard to meet with demands of the time.
The owner, Sr. Sabin A. Larrazabal, felt the need of expanding his business, thus paving a way to the realization of one of his dreams-that of building a beautiful hotel by Ormoc bay.
Thus, in 1990, Sr. Sabin with the help of a young architect from Ormoc and an equally young interior designer from Cebu, conceptualized his dream. An edifice on a 3 hectare space with 32 big rooms, including 1 presidential suite,& 1 executive room, one big Social Hall accommodating 400-500 guests, 2 smaller room for smaller meeting; 1 business room, 1 gift shop and a spacious lobby was completed.
A huge swimming pool, facing the ocean which is uniquely and artistically designed adds exuberance and ambience to the hotel.
In 2006, a construction of 2 new buildings was made; a 3 storey building with 40 huge rooms including 2 big family rooms. Another 3 storey in the other side of the Hotel-the first floor is the Mario's Restaurant which serves the best cuisine in town; the 2nd floor is Garvie's Social Hall which accommodates 100-250 guests, and the 3rd floor is Club Andone's where one can socialize and bond with friends and business associates.
